  • This is for a business card-sized ad for the back of the brochure for the 3rd Quarterly History Exhibit. Please provide your business card image to the POC, Billy Hogan, hoganbilly@live.com, 727-641-4124, quickly so we can incorporate it into the brochure.

  • This sponsorship enables creating a 65 sq ft history display area. The display area will feature four exhibits in 2026, open to members, invited guests and the public at specific events.

    The current exhibit is titled "Preparing for War" and examines the state of the U.S. Army in the late 1890s and the events from late April through mid-June 1898. This sponsorship supports procuring artifacts, signage and printing necessary materials for the display area.

    The sponsorship will result in signage in the display recognizing the sponsorship organization for a period of one year.
  • The SS Yucatan Transports the Rough Riders to Cuba and Invasion
    • The landing marked the beginning of the Spanish-American War.
    • U.S. forces aimed to liberate Cuba from Spanish colonial rule.
    • Key battles, such as the Battle of San Juan Hill, took place shortly after the landing.


    All our artifact and placard sponsorships provide appropriate credit to the sponsor in the label we will use in the display for the item. The display label remains with the item no matter how many exhibits we create which feature the artifact.
  • Display placard featuring the main battle on San Juan Heights, July 1st, 1898.
    • Key battle for U.S. forces to capture strategic positions in Cuba.
    • Led by Theodore Roosevelt and the Rough Riders, gaining fame for their charge.
    • The battle showcased the effectiveness of U.S. infantry tactics against Spanish defenses.
    • Resulted in a decisive American victory, leading to the fall of Santiago de Cuba.

  • The Battle of Las Guasimas of June 24, 1898 was a Spanish rearguard action by Major General Antero Rubín against advancing columns led by Major General "Fighting Joe" Wheeler and the first land engagement of the Spanish–American War. The battle unfolded from Wheeler's attempt to storm Spanish positions at Las Guasimas de Sevilla, in the jungles surrounding Santiago de Cuba, with the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry and the 10th Regular Cavalry.

  • This sponsorship covers a display placard describing the siege and naval battle at Santiago
    • Established a blockade to prevent Spanish reinforcements and supplies from reaching Santiago.
    • Used naval ships to patrol and enforce the blockade effectively.
    • Aimed to cut off the Spanish fleet's escape routes from Santiago harbor.
    • Supported ground troops during the Battle of San Juan Hill by limiting Spanish resources.
    • Decisive Naval Battle, July 3rd 1898

  • This sponsorship is used to offset the costs of outfitting a mannequin representing a Rough Rider uniform of the Spansih American War. Due to the high cost of actual Rough Riders artifacts, other artifacts from the period will likely be used.

    All our artifact and placard sponsorships provide appropriate credit to the sponsor in the label we will use in the display for the item. The display label remains with the item no matter how many exhibits we create which feature the artifact.
  • This sponsorship is to offset the costs of acquiring an addiitonal mannequin outfitted in a Navy Petty Officer uniform and hat reqpresenting a sailor of the time period.

    All our artifact and placard sponsorships provide appropriate credit to the sponsor in the label we will use in the display for the item. The display label remains with the item no matter how many exhibits we create which feature the artifact.

Sponsorships for the 3rd Quarterly History Display

The 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment - Rough Riders, Inc. was formed for the purpose of creating and perpetuating a living memorial to the unique accomplishment of President Theodore Roosevelt and the members of the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment known as "The Rough Riders."  On the History side we have our Teddy Roosevelt Museum and Library.  We provide tours of our museum and sometimes take out a display as a road show.

This fiscal year we are developing a series of four exhibits that will rotate quarterly.  These four exhibits will be (in order):

1st Quarterly Exhibit:  Lead-up to the Spanish American War Jan-March (completed).   

2nd Quarterly Exhibit:  Preparing for War - April-June.  This is the current exhibit on display in the Bartley Hall History Showcase A picture of that display is shown above.  

3rd Quarterly Exhibit: Combat Operations in Cuba - July - September (this exhibit is due to be officially opened on 1 July 2026 at the Rough Riders Bead Sale event).  For this exhibit we have four sub-themes or vignettes that will be curated:

  • The SS Yucatan Transports the Rough Riders to Cuba and the Invasion
  • The Battle of Las Guasimas, June 24th, 1898
  • The main battle on San Juan Heights, July 1st, 1898.
  • The siege and naval battle at Santiago, July 3th, 1898

For the brochure we are looking for business and personal advertisements for the back of the brochure. Business card sized advertisments are available for $100 each.  Personal ad space will be available for $50. 

Other sponsorships for parts of the display (signage, U.S Army and U.S. Navy memorabilia) are also available.

4th Quarterly Exhibit: The unique accompishments of Teddy Roosevelt, information to be announced in early August 2026.
