St. Patrick’s Day Members Only Mini Parade

To help celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, the Rough Rider’s are planning a ‘Members Only’ mini parade consisting of the Rough Riders rolling fleet on a tour through various parts of downtown Tampa, Channelside and Ybor City.

The event will be followed by a parking lot party with Irish themed food which will be open to members and significant others

The Plan of the Day is an official document of 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment - Rough Rider’s Inc. Its contents reflect current

orders of the Commanding Officer and official Regimental announcements concerning this event. All members are responsible for

reading and understanding the information contained herein.

PARADE AND EVENT SCHEDULE

11:00AM – 12:00PM – Only Rough Riders muster at Clubhouse, parking will be across 19th Street and at neighboring properties to the north.

12:30PM – Lt Col. John T.R. Howell addresses the Troops

12:45PM – Maj. Joe Dato address the Troops re safety, conduct on route and Covid guidelines for event

Immediately following will be a moment of silence for TPD officer Madsen

Immediately following – playing of the colors

1:00PM – Parade Begins with Jeep 1, Train and Coal Car, Jay/Little Tex, TR, Trolley, Teddy Bear Express, and Jeep 2 exiting compound under police escort.

1:45PM – Floats Return to Clubhouse for Post-Parade Irish Food Feast and outdoor party with spouses/significant others.

2:00PM - Bars open once all Floats have returned to the Clubhouse

1. UNIFORMS

a. Full uniform, including RR hats, is the dress of the day. Please have your 2021-year patch affixed to your shirt.

Green bandanas, suspenders and hats are approved

b. The Club President has authorized FNGs to wear Rough Rider T-shirts if regular uniform shirt is incomplete.

c. Members not working as Safety & Security Personnel are prohibited from wearing ballcaps, visors, or other headgear on the floats.

2. RESTRICTIONS

a. Masks must be worn during entire parade, only exception is when eating or drinking. All other Covid restrictions will be in place. IF YOU FEEL SICK, STAY HOME.

b. No alcohol or tobacco products, including smokeless products, are allowed on the floats.

c. NO BEADS or other objects may be thrown from the floats.

d. Use Common Sense and Good Judgement throughout the day. Be safe.

All Covid-19 protocols will be followed including the wearing of masks while on the floats.
