As much as I love a good parade, last Thursday reminded me exactly why I joined this organization. We came together for a purpose—and we delivered.
Our Joint Social with F-Troop was more than just a great time—it was a mission to raise enough funds to grant a wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Thanks to your generosity and the strength of our partnership, we didn’t just meet our goal—we the Rough Riders matched the donations and contributed a total of $16,000. That’s two life-changing wishes granted.
It was also a special night as many of us had the opportunity to visit with Bob Patton (RR#84), who was instrumental in building the TR in 2009, among many other contributions to our organization. A big thank you to Mike Thomas (RR#0095) for making that moment possible.
And of course, a thank you to Steve Egan for chairing such a meaningful and successful event.
We have another opportunity to give back Saturday August 2nd at the Special Olympics Bowling Competition where we will be presenting another charitable check and Teddy Bears. The athletes genuinely appreciate our support, and we hope to see you there.
